A raffle or suchlike is good for me. Auctions are for the rich kids (which I aint.. No jokes bout train drivers please).
Looking forward to the book no matter what. If I should be lucky enough to win the manuscript I will be one happy bunny. At last a real treasure for me book collection
I tend to agree, with the one off proofs going for hundreds I'd have no chance. With a raffle we all get a fair shot & the raffle last time did make more than the previous auctions.
On the down side it does mean the precious manuscript could go to a winner who isn't that bothered & only entered on a whim.
But still I vote for the raffle option...

Good Point - I agree with the raffle where the lucky recipient also makes a 'donation'
The donation need not be cash, but as Ian is going to need some financial support, a donation to him and the running of the Golden Sprouts could be requested. if you know what i mean, and i'm sure that you do
They look a bit silly putting that up so far in advance
However, I've spotted a little something on that page that should enable Robert to live in luxury for the rest of the decade:
"Trade in Yours
For a £9.55 Gift Card"
Right now - who's got the only copies (and given a good laser printer, infinite copies) of the book, and can trade them in for a tenner's worth of gift certificate a pop?
Only catch is you might have to buy them from Amazon first, in case they check.
There is some news; Mr Rankin is finishing his current book:
The Chickens of Atlantis and Other Fowl and Filthy Fiends
It is then said he will....and I quote:
“Begin the new Brentford trilogy. The first book in that trilogy will be titled THE LORD OF THE RING ROADS.”
Please note the word “trilogy” Oh and also what a great title!
Where do you get this info from?
Yeah great title I hope it sticks (supprised no ones used it before)
Robert posted this information on his Facebook a couple of days ago Andi
