There is some news; Mr Rankin is finishing his current book: The Chickens of Atlantis and Other Fowl and Filthy Fiends It is then said he will....and I quote: “Begin the new Brentford trilogy. The first book in that trilogy will be titled THE LORD OF THE RING ROADS.” Please note the word “trilogy” Oh and also what a great title!

I have one more book to write for a publisher then Far Fetched Books, my own little book company will publish a new Brentford trilogy. Each book will be published as a signed and numbered limited edition of 5000 copies, for sale at events or through my Facebook page. In July I will publish ALICE ON MARS AND OTHER RAINY TALES, a one hundred page illustrated book (limited edition of 2000). I intend to self-publish one novel and one illustrated book each year until I snuff it. Then I won't write anything else.

Not too sure about the "snuff it" bit Sad , but what a good idea. So many authors are now going down the self publish route. Roll on July I say Laughing out loud And Douglas Adams had one published after the fat lady sang, so it could happen Puzzled

Good to hear from you Robert & great to know you're getting Far Fetched Books going Smiling

A few questions:
Are you totally abandoning the traditional publishing route?
Does that mean there will only ever be 5000 copies of each new book published?
How will that affect the covers & book size? (hb, pb etc)
Is the Alice on Mars book totally seperate from the Empires books?
Is the 2nd Empires books still comming out & will those books continue too?

One novel & one illustrated books every year is quite a target, don't burn out Shocked

Dr Bob, instead of faceborg use Far Fetched Books web site at:

http://www.farfetchedbooks.com/

Deep at least I think I can answer one of your questions, Alice on Mars is the 2nd Empires book as far as I have read. Smiling

On that Far Fetched link, is it just e-books at the moment, or real books too?

e-Books at the moment as he doesn't own the publishing rights (so I believe) to his former novels.

Excited to hear about the self publishing.. Hope they aren't took expensive Smiling
