We;; this is a most surreal experience. I have been to get my teeth attended to by my local sadist.. I mean dentist. Had a root treatment started, and now the whole right side of my face is numb. But it has also affected my eye. I cant actually blink or close my right eye. Very strange and a little spooky, it would be great for scaring the local kids. You can just hear them saying "Mummy who is that strange man who only blinks with one eye??"
The drive back home was a right lark too I can tell you...
Anyway, just thought I would share that.
Oh I once had a similar. I was having a filling but the anaesthetic wasn't taking hold and my dentist gave me injection after injection until she couldn't give me any more and they still didn't work. But she'd started so she couldn't stop. I ended up having to have the tooth drilled with the full pain experience, but when I got out, I was numb from my collar bone to my eyebrow on one side. I could barely swallow. Boy did I dribble that day!
Dentists? Don't talk to me about dentists.
Is it true that most dentist appointments tend to be @ 14.30 or two thirty
?
I'll get my coat and see myself out

9:15 tomorrow morning for me
Thank god for Health Shield is all I can say. Though I do finally have an NHS Dentist, after nearly 20 years of searching. Not to mention the 5 years of living in Dumfries with no dentist at all, cos they all went private and wouldnt take on patients. Scarey times mate.... Last private check up I had cost me £34. And he just poked about a bit and said, yeah you need two fillings. Yeah, and one of those was the one he screwed up last time I was there. And he charged me £75 for the priviledge of screwing up....
One visit to the dentist used to use up my dental insurance for the year.....
And DONT get me started on how much I had to pay for a frigging crown. That still brings pains down the left side of my body.
