Hi there, I'm an intermittant contributer to these forums, I've not been on here for a while.
However, I do promote Robert whenever I can, and I've just bought the new book.
Now, although I'm a middle aged grandmother, I have a child inside me, and I play on a handful of website games, I'm a moderator on 2 of them, and I misused my power, a couple of weeks or so ago, and posted a llink to Roberts comic that's on line on the news page to show the hundreds on there, mostly Americans, the sort of thing I like, and to spread the word about Roberts works, as I know there are Steam Punk fans, and comic fans on the site.
A few days later I get a message from a player on there that's in the UK, and was going to the Steam Punk event, after researching what was going to be there, she saw the phrase "far fetched fiction", and realised that I'd be interested to know that she was going.
She messaged me this morning to say that she'd missed Roberts talk, as she got there too late, and she couldn't afford to buy the book, especially as she's not read any of his work yet, but is going to check out her library
However, she spotted he was signing posters, so in a moment of not really thinking about it, and the fact she didn't know y address even, she got Robert to sign one for me, in my game name of "Apples" (I know..
)
So, I'm taking the chance, and given a total stranger my home address
Well, I had to, it'll be the only thing I have signed by Roberts fair hand.
So, there you have it, hopefully a new fan, and a signed poster on it's way to me. And possibly a bemused Robert wondering why he was signing a poster to someone named Apples
Cool,
We give out addresses out to strangers all the time, buying stuff off ebay etc.
So do you live in America then?
If you're friend is anywhere near Leicester on Thurs, Robert is doing another talk & signing
