So who should play who in an adaptation of a Rankin Novel?

 The Antipopope

Jim Pooley - Richard E. Grant ?

John O'mally - Patrick Bergin ?

The Antipope - Tim Curry ?

You must have better ideas than these surely?

If it was done as a TV series...

Jim Pooley - Lee Mack
John O'Mally - Chris O'Dowd
Neville - Bill Bailey
Soap Distant - David Tennant
Norman - Mark Heap

I'm rubbish at names,and can

I'm rubbish at names, and can I pick anybody from anytime?

I think the guys who did Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect from the origonal hitch hikers would transpose quite well to Pooley and O'Mally

The antipope, that guy who played Sherlock Holmes (He was also the young man who fell in love with Eliza Dolittle in My Fair Lady - sang 'on the street where you live')

Soap Distant I see more as a Selwyn Froggit type character

Thanks Robert. You've killed the thread as nobody is going to dare disagree with you!

Kate Moss could play Marchant.

Wouldn't Stephen Fry be a nifty Hugo Rune, you reckon?

Not bad, but I also think Brian Blessed would be pretty good if we could hold him down and shave him.

It would be worth it just for that Evil

Brian Bles... oh, you went there already.

Um.

Cornelius Murpy - A very young Ian McShane (bonus: big hair for free I suspect).
Tuppe - Verne Troyer (unless we've got a LOTR budgey for LOTR camera tricks!).
Hugo Rune - A reincarnated Oliver Reed.
The Hot Female Lead - Drew Barrymore (that's purely for personal entertainment)

Pooley - Agreement on Richard E Grant.
O'Malley - Rik Mayall, but playing it a bit straighter than usual.
The Professor - Robert Rankin, if he promises to tone down the energy and act a bit older!
Gammon - Michael Caine, of course.
William Starling - Gary Oldman.
Neville - I've always imagined him to look a bit like Christoper Lee...
Archroy - I still want Brian Blessed in here somewhere!
Soap - Stephen Fry
