Quick update!
This is already on the events page, but what the hell.....Joint Golden Sprout/ZZ9 Picnic at Crystal Palace where like the title says, we will be dining with dinosaurs! This is an open event, so all are welcome.
We will be meeting at the main entrance to Crystal Palace Rail Station for 1pm, Saturday 2nd July.
Cool - should be there, as long as I'm not still hungover from Glastonbury.
Coool...be good to see you Rachie!
I was in Crystal Palace park today.
I identified an under cover spot where we may be able to picnic even if it is pissing down; or, if it is lightly spitting we can probably get away with being under the trees overlooking the dinos. It will probably be bright and sunny.
Bad news regarding the only public toilets in the park - some twat arsoned them. Bromley Council have stuck a couple of portaloos in front of them but there was a long queue... There is also one disabled toilet in the cafe in the sports centre (you have to get up a hill and three flights of stairs to get to it from the dinos).
There is a Tesco Local just down the hill from Crystal Palace Station, 2 min walk. Handy for anyone too lazy to carry stuff to the park?
I would suggest as a route: 1. Dinos (and picnic); 2. Maze; 3. ruins of Crystal Palace. This ends us up at Crystal Palace Triangle where the pubs are, and then only a 5 or 10 min walk downhill back to the Station. There is a pub across the road from the Station but it is a shithole that I don't recommend it unless you are looking for a fight.
Heres some pics of the dinosaurs as thrown up by google:

Three flights of stairs! They obviously don't want any disabled people messing up their nice toilets for the disabled then!
I used a disabled toilet once, it was big enough inside the cubicle to run and jump around in circles waving your arms. It's as if the designers were mocking people who can't move in a fully abled way. I think that cubicles for the abled should have that amount of space so that we can get up and have a quick jog if we want to.

When I'm staying at Travellodges and such, I like to get a room for the disabled if possible. You get much more space, the plugs are conveniently placed (why in normal rooms do they put the hairdryer 40 foot away from the mirror?) and I love the asymetric and parellel bars in the bathroom. Great for a total work out.
Tut, Tut, Tut

OH I thought the bars were there for when you had trouble getting a large poo out and needed something to grip on and help with the straining!
Sorry
