Does anybody know what is happening about the radio play of the Retromancer?
It seems to have gone very quiet.
Both Robert & Neil Gardner were at the launch the other week in London. I believe someone was asking about that & the reply was along the lines that things progress very slowly on that front - but don't quote me on that, you'd have to wait for a post from the boys in the know...
A thirteen part script has been written and it is an absolute blinder. Money is indeed the problem and as far as I know Neil is hoping to make a start in the new year. But as to the actual whats and whens, it's all anyone's guess. If anyone out there has few thousand they would care to invest in the project, don't hesitate to let me know.
I'll just have a peek down the back of the sofa. You know how those pennies can mount up down there....
If a full Brightonomicon style production does prove to be out of reach, what would be the chances of doing one along the lines of The Antipope one from 2003(ish)?
Nah,,, we want BIG PRODUCTION VALUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It will happen eventually. But I have spent most of my life waiting for something that people told me would happen, to actually happen. Nowadays I know that if I can't make it happen myself then it probably won't happen, so I don't worry about it.
I will write my present book and it is my intention to do a special privately-printed limited edition book for next year. That will be tied in with the special something I am trying to organise that is not quite organised yet.
Does any of that actually make any sense?
You only have to ask, if it can be done it will be
as we used to say in my previous life, "can't means won't and won't means JAIL".
Most of it
Nothing I wrote there was directed at you, Ian. Mostly at publishers, radio and TV people, film makers etc.

I wasn't having a go at Neil either. If he had the money he'd make the series.
