We have now got our hangovers sorted and are back in what passes for reality. And did we have a fun time at the SFX Weekender? Damn right, what a brilliant weekend. Raygun and I had such fun and it was great to see good friends again, you know who you all are. Graham's lower jaw is probably still on his chest regarding the stilt-walking girlies, the fir-eaters, the monsters, the whole damn wonderful thing. Roll on the next one I say.. and I got to meet Gerry Anderson, who actually chatted up Raygun in the green room. Class.
Sorry more of you couldn't make it, you did miss a fun event.

And here's me thinking you were making implications about the sexuality of the stilt-walking girlies..... Smiling

I have seen a picture of them and I can fully understand the jaw-droppage!

Have to say that was awesome fun. The wife is now nursing a very sore back from trying to dance like Lady Gaga, though personally I think it could be drunken sex on a really bad bed. No we didnt do it in the TARDIS, though hat is off to those who did. Robert was fantastic throughout the event, the awards in particular have been getting huge kudos from the fans. I got to talk to Bill Pearson on the train home, he is a lovely bloke. I wish I had spoken to him during the con, but had too many people to see and too many things to do. Got my Watchmen signed by Dave Gibbons, the man is great indeed. Met China Meiville who is just fantastic and if you havent read any of his books.... Shame on you! Didnt get Tom Baker's autograph but did let Rachie get something signed by lending her my VIP lanyard, so that balances out. Really am thinking of doing it all again next year. Especially if those stilt walking girlies are there again. There is just something wonderful about walking into an event and having a very pert and shapely bottom at eye level the first thing you see.... MARVELOUS!!

What an absolutely FANTASTIC WEEKEND!!!! Drink was drunk, toot was talked, mates were met (new and old) dances were danced and fun was had by all. Robert is right, having such wondrous sights at eye level made me a very happy camper.
Robert and his lovely assistant were amazing as the host and hostess of the SFX awards (should have got an award themselves), so lets have more of us along for the next one.

Joe Abercrombie (best new find of the weekend)
Richard Morgan

Thanks to Red Dragon for the Shatterday book
