oh yeah i went to that as well would have been about 14 at the time haha newnham festival i think it was, orbital played it was quite an event. Shame you could hardly see the eclipse though.
hey black your not a giant are you??
Jee thanks JD
re Eclipse - We were at a grassy place in Plymouth, on some (not all that high) cliffs near the sea. THere were some rides & a big screen up - which we were glad of as it was totally clouded over. We drove down the night before & slept in the car.
the Magpie & Crown now has a temporary landlord. A pleasant chap, but his idea of a good pint is Courage Directors!
However he is keeping some draught ales, mainly from Twickenham http://www.twickenham-fine-ales.co.uk/ The Belgian bottles have gone and it's all looking rather sad.
No luck on a permanent landlord, maybe the owners will come to their senses. In the meantime, serious beer drinkers will just go elsewhere and not come back. It's a very sad state of affairs.
Ah news from BrentfordTW8 - Huzzah
What happened to the pyramid, that's what I want to know
The pyramid's still there, to those who can see

So where would you recommend? I've been round most of the Brentford pubs & the Magpie (as was) was the only real choice. The Brewary Tap is decent but only has Fullers (though there are ususally 4 of them).
& I hear the bar billiards has dissapeared too
Any idea where it went? I'd have given it a good home

You really need courage to drink that shite.

No, but you haven't seen the size of his backside.
Funny that the eclipse should be mentioned at the same time. The two are not unrelated.

Fee fi fo fum. Must be my giant ablutions
We went to Plymouth for the eclipse a few years back.
