Manchester MOSI Day Out (plus obligatory beer 'n' toot session)
Just to give this thing its own thread....
Saturday 23rd January 2010 - a day out at the Manchester Museum Of Science & Industry (MOSI), followed by beer and toot.
Admission to the main galleries of the museum are FREE!

This is aimed at Northern Sprouts, but all are welcome of course.
More details, such as recommended hotels for anyone staying over, to follow.
Anyone interested, please post here so we can get a vague idea of numbers.

To quote our resident expert Lisa, it is:
"Near train station (5 mins), not near the munters on a Saturday night, but some great pubs in the vicinity. MOSI is a 10 min walk from there. Spar round the corner for night-time beers. Multistorey CP opposite. And a curry house in the building!"
A quick look suggests you can get a room for around £45 a night if you book a "no cancel, no change, completely unflexible, breakfast extra" rate.
Can prob make it, will check with Julia in the morning...
This sounds great, pencil me in (and the Mrs) 
Do I wear my Golden Sprout badge (like wearing a pink carnation when on a blind date???) and look like a complete Tw*t ? 
Or is it a secret hand shake when we meet up? (Sorry it seems there is a Da Vinci exhibit on at the time and I have gone all Masonic!)

I am 99% as long as nothing iffy happens between now and then (like the bloody central heating boiler blowing up (its making some funny noises!)) The Mrs is in the shower so she should, if I am lucky, be ready by 10pm!

Well you don't have to do both, you could leave off the badge but still look like a complete Tw*t if you want
It was easy to spot the sprouts on my first sprouting as it was fancy dress, but generally, the sprouts are the ones at the bar making a lot of noise.
Oddly enough, there was an excellent pub directly opposite the Oxford science museum. It must be an tradition or an old charter or something.

This one comes recommended by Lisa, and there's no way she'd take us to anywhere Blue Oyster-ish I'm sure. Hmmm, actually, no, no I'm not so sure......
