There have been issues regarding postage of items from the club and I wanted to clarify here what is going on.

The main issue at present seems to be t-shirts, these are packed in postal polybags and sent using 2nd class large packet stamps. The main reason for this is speed, I normally (personal life permitting, yes I do have one) turn around these orders in 24 hours as there is no need to visit a post office and I keep a good stock of stamps in the house.

Before I went with this system I did take a packaged t-shirt to the post office and have it checked and it is well within the parameters for the postage used.

Recently it would seem that some over officious, jobs-worth ars**oles have been stopping these packages, and there have been at least three incidences of this, for insufficient postage which involes the recipient having to go to the post depot and pay extra postage and a fine.

I have today, again, been to the post office and had the package checked - IT IS WITHIN PARAMETERS AND SHOULD NOT BE STOPPED!

The only possible reason that could be given was that the polybags have a certain amout of air in them that makes them too big but this is NOT REASONABLE as the air can be squeesed out!

I will continue to send t-shirts by this means, if yours is stopped you should REFUSE to pay the extra and insist that they produce scales and measuring template so you can demonstrate that it is within the requirements for the postage affixed, if possible please send me the notification card alerting you to its stoppage as I am building a case against the P.O. for compensation.
